The Virginia Festival of Flight and Fly-In (previously known as the Virginia Regional Festival of Flight) is a one-day event that is more than just a gathering of aircraft, their pilots, owners and builders. It is an exciting participatory experience focusing on attendees of all ages, designed to appeal to those who dream about and/or want to learn more about aviation and what aviation opportunities exist. Making this more exciting is that the Festival of Flight and Fly-In will be operating concurrently alongside the Suffolk Peanut Festival. Come join this family oriented day of entertainment, excitement, and education.
During the day, experience all things aviation. Enjoy presentations on topics such as careers, flying, buying, building, becoming a pilot, and maintenance opportunities. Visit our aviation organization’s tent. Experience vendors who sell a wide variety of products, services and souvenirs. The Youth Activities Area provides children, from toddlers to teens, creative, hands-on opportunities to learn about flying and airplanes. Activities include pedal planes to ride for the younger set to mini-kite building.
Embrace the Suffolk Peanut Festival’s day of entertainment and activities, culminating with after-dark activities focusing on families. Food will be available all day, plus our world famous pancake breakfast in the morning from 8AM-11AM.
Many types of aircraft fly in for the day. Attendees can examine the aircraft closely. Some of them are home-built show planes, some restored classics, ultralights, powered parachutes and paragliders, gliders, general aviation, older military and many factory-built airplanes. The owners and builders are always willing to share information about their planes.
